Neck Reset and Body Repair on a Late 60's Acoustic.
|
Neck reset on a late 60's Acoustic.
There is considerable body damage
on the top and sides. In addition, the
neck block is cracked.
With neck removed, the neck block
can be glued and pinned (note the
excess glue). After that, the side
cracks can be glued and cleated.
After splinting the cracks with Spruce,
small pieces of binding are being cut to
fill the voids. This repair is going to be
tough to make invisible. Fortunately, a
lot is hidden by the fingerboard.
Finally finished, the neck is glued back
after getting the angle correct, all the
touch-up is completed, and she's
ready to play.
